Jessie and Benjie will be showing you how to explore new challenges and approaches in your swing dancing through Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz.
Teachers
Jessie and Benjie from The Swing Project in Cardiff are all about community, connection and collaboration - and they try to make sure all their classes are a reflection of that, creating space for people to come together to share and grow as we all learn how to be better guests in jazz culture.
They love to explore how we can can all have more equal, creative, playful, rhythmical conversations in our Lindy Hop and want to empower you to show up not just for your partner, but for yourself in your dancing.
The workshops will take place at Kenton Victory Hall, a short drive (or bus ride) outside Exeter, with plenty of parking.
Difficulty Level
This weekend is aimed at Improvers and above Lindy Hop dancers who are comfortable with social dancing. You can switch between six count and eight count rhythms and are familiar with dancing classic moves like swing outs.
Social Dance
The weekend features a live music social on Saturday night featuring Shirt Tail Stompers - originating in London they’ve become one of the world’s leading Swing bands and are a firm favourite in the Swing community. The evening social will be held at Matthews Hall, Topsham - 7pm - 11pm.
